Our Club recognizes the guiding force of Interact Clubs… The Teacher-Coordinators

Interact movement began way back in 5th November 1962 at Florida, USA but as it did incredible good work across the globe and grew to a size of 12300 + clubs , India became one of the focal points of the movement.

Rotary Club of Calcutta enabled Interact Club growth as it sponsored school based Interact Clubs and these clubs did projects involving caring for old age homes , helping underprivileged children , participating in skill development etc which created societal benefits. RC Calcutta also realizes that none of the projects of the Interact Clubs would have been possible without the guiding hands of the Teacher-Coordinators of the respective school-based clubs. In recognition of the invaluable contribution that the Teacher Coordinator brings in the functioning of Interact Clubs , RC Calcutta on Tuesday 6th September 2016 at the RWM at Rotary Sadan , felicitated the Teacher-Coordinators of the sponsored clubs.

Teacher-Coordinators who attended were:

  • Ms Debanjana Roy of Interact Club of Mahadevi Birla World Academy
  • Ms Bipasha Mahapatra of Interact Club of Calcutta Boys School
  • Ms Sutapa Chatterjee of Interact Club of South Point High School
  • Ms Ratna Chanda Roy of Interact Club of Silver Point School
  • Ms Tillotama Roy Chowdhury of Interact Club of Silver Point School

Unfortunately the Teacher Coordinators from La Martiniere Boys and from La Martiniere Girls could not attend.

After a brief introduction of the event by Rtn S D Mookerjea , Chair Youth and literacy Committee , the Teacher – Cordinators were requested to come to the podium to briefly address the gathering and were presented mementos by President Nilima Joshi. The Teacher-Coordinators spoke on the club’s plans of the year which included humanitarian services , community support , literacy support etc. It may be mentioned that some Interactors from Mahadevi Birla World Academy and from Silver Point School were also present.
