ZONES
are grouping of clubs, constituted by the RI Board, for the
purpose of electing members of the nominating committee for
president of Rotary International and for the nomination of
directors. The organization of Rotary institutes is often
based on zone alignments. India belongs to Zones 4, 5 and 6.
- The world is divided
into 34 zones that are approximately equal in number of
Rotarians.
- Each such zone
nominates a director from the membership of the clubs in
that zone every fourth year.
- The RI board
undertakes no less often than every eight years, a
comprehensive review of the composition of the zones to
maintain an approximately equal number of Rotarians in
each zone.
- India has 31 Rotary
