Shri KeshriNathTripathi

BRIEF ON HIS PROFILE


His Excellency, KeshriNathTripathi was born on 25th November, 1934, graduated from Allahabad University in 1953, passed his LLB Examination in 1955, and by profession is a Sr. Advocate at Allahabad High Court. KeshriNathTripathi became Governor of West Bengal on 24thJuly, 2014 and for a period had held the portfolio as Governor of 3 other states concurrently, having taken the charge of Bihar during 27thNovember, 2014 to 16thAugust, 2016, Mizoram from 4thApril, 2015 to 26th May, 2015, and Meghalaya from 6thJanuary, 2015 to 19thMay, 2015.
During his formative years a sense of social commitment and moral values took shape under the guidance of his parents, and a nation building fervour developed during his early association with national leaders & freedom fighters. We came into national prominence as the only minister nominated 3 times as speaker of Vidhan Sabha, after having served as member of UP Legislative Assembly 6 times (in 1977, 89,91, 93, 96 & 2006) and as Cabinet Minister during 1977-79.
Apart from political accomplishment, Shri KeshriNathTripathi is an erudite literature, an acclaimed poet and an author of several published books. He is associated with a number of educational, cultural and literary institutions and has participated in many poetry symposiums in UK, the USA, and Netherlands and earned laurels. His chief literary works are two anthologies of Hindi poems published under titles called 'Mononukriti' and AayuPankh'. His commentary on Representation of People Act 1951 is widely esteemed, and is regarded as the last word in election law.
KeshriNathTripathi has 3 children, a son and 2 daughters who are all professionals in their respective fields, and none has pursued a political carrier.
